Centre Street at

Earls Southcentre Mall

“Center Street captures the spirit of Calgary’s city, mountain and prairie landscapes. Inspired by the fields of farmland and mountains surrounding our beautiful city, I composed this piece to convey a sense of harmony and balance between urban and rural life.

The Rocky Mountains stand in the distance amidst the blue sky, instilling a sense of awe, while the outlines of the Calgary Tower, Telus Sky, and Bow buildings unify city, countryside and mountains. These structures represent Calgary’s unique identity as they are prominent and unique buildings that can be viewed from various vantage points along Centre Street.

In the midground, green grass is met with freshly harvested farmland, a typical sight on your way out of the city when heading towards the mountains. In the foreground, a tractor stands as a testament to the industrious spirit of rural life.

Center Street invites you to pause and reflect on the spirit of Calgary. Through the careful interplay of colors, textures, and composition, I aimed to capture a scene that feels like home.”

You can view this piece at Earls Southcentre Mall, located on the wall behind table 51.
