Calgary Surge

For the Calgary Surge’s home opening game of the 2024 season, YYC Solediers inquired about designing a pair of AND1 basketball sneakers for the Surge’s custom sneaker collection. This pair will be showcased at every home game along with the rest of the sneaker collection.
I approached the design with an abstract, graffiti look. My work is usually quite detail oriented so I wanted to be a bit more free with the vibe of this pair. To give it some flair, I used gold paint for the word “SURGE” as well as flicks and strokes of paint all over the shoe.

I had the exciting opportunity to be interviewed by Chris Della Torre for CBC's Homestretch right before the Calgary Surge's opening game. During our conversation, Chris delved into various aspects of the Surge game, exploring the excitement and anticipation surrounding the event. We also discussed my business, with Chris asking questions about my custom sneaker designs and the creative process behind them. It was a thrilling experience to share my passion and showcase how my art intertwines with the vibrant energy of the Surge's game day atmosphere.
